NEW RESTAURANT, “THE GREEK,” OPENS IN THE SWEET AUBURN CURB MARKET AND OFFERS FREE PIZZA “UNTIL IT RUNS OUT” OPENING DAY

(ATLANTA, GA) – Pizza is on the house for diners of “The Greek” on opening day, April 14, 2010 as part of the restaurant’s grand opening scheduled for 12 p.m. in Atlanta’s Sweet Auburn Curb Market, 209 Edgewood Avenue SE.

“I am truly excited to open ‘The Greek’ Gyros and Pizza in the Sweet Auburn Market, joining my fellow vendors in bringing downtown Atlanta a new and vibrant choice in well priced, freshly prepared food,” said proprietor John Gianoulidis.

“The Greek” will have a place among restaurants, retail stores, produce and meat vendors, a bakery, and a seafood store comprising the municipal market, which has recently seen a significant revitalization.

Asked why he chose the Sweet Auburn Curb Market as the location for his restaurant, Gianoulidis said he loves the atmosphere’s energy. “There’s a fantastic cross-section of people,” he said. “And a lot of great food smells.”

Gianoulidis takes pride in his food preparation and offers customers authentic recipes, homemade sauces, hand-grated cheese instead of “cheese product,” and a pizza dough recipe he won’t share. Equally important is that the food is priced with the current economy in mind, Gianoulidis said, adding, “Prices are the best I can make them without sacrificing quality and freshness.”

“The Greek” offers a variety of fare in addition to gyros and pizza, to include Greek lasagna, moussaka, salads, wraps, calzones and an assortment of traditional pastries for dessert. Catering is also available – just ask for Johnny.
